This website was a technical feat since we were able to program a WordPress website install with different branding colors in every section.  Each event type has it’s own logo color and printed marketing materials for clients.  The new website uses zero flash technology so it is touch and iPad/iPhone compatible.  The layout is super clean, fresh and bright with easy to follow navigation and much less crowded text than their original website.

This project involved taking their existing website which was very nice but about 10 years old and they had just outgrown it and needed some major re-organization of their navigational structure.  Web Casa Design in collaboration with Rent Control Inc. came up with a major restructuring and reorganization of their content.  The new graphical look and feel appropriately reflects their building facade with the old world Romanesque architecture.

Web Casa Design redesigned the site in a content management platform that is easy for designated staff to update from a browser, add meeting and event schedules, news and more.

The website was designed within WordPress open source software and allows the site administrators to add breweries, restaurants, entertainment and expert speakers on the fly from any browser or even by downloading an iPad or iPhone app and can easily be modified by even the most novice web administrator.

Mary Meeker of Morgan Stanley is the lead Internet Analyst and has been dubbed the ‘Queen of the Net’ because of her extensive knowledge of internet trends.  According to her latest State of the Internet report, social networking and mobile internet will be the two most overwhelming online trends of this technology cycle.  She predicts that within the next 5 years, more people will connect to the internet via their mobile device than desktop computers.  Out of all of those mobile devices connecting to the internet currently, almost 65% of them are iPhones.  Add to that number that Apple sold 3 million iPads in only 80 days and you see the overwhelming reasons why flash should be used more and more sparingly on websites.

The reasons have varied and rumors have swirled for years on why Steve Jobs will not support Flash Technology on any of Apple’s devices.  There were so many requests that he had to lay the rumors to rest and publish an article detailing exactly why Apple will never support Flash on any of it’s devices.  You can read the article here.
